A complaint free world
There is an interesting experiment out there called "the 21-day No-Complaint experiment" . The idea is not to think any negative thoughts during the course of 21 days. You start wearing a purple bracelet on one of your wrists and if you think a negative thought, you switch the bracelet to your other wrist and start all over again until you reach 21 days. Now, I can tell you that it's an enormous task, as we humans, are so prone to negative thoughts. I get about a gazillion negative thoughts but instead of dwelling and complaining about them, why not replace the negative thought with a solution to that underlying problem? Instead of thinking "Oh, I am not cut out for this job" try thinking "What can I do to improve myself to do this job better?" The Japanese have a wonderful system called "Kaizen"; it means constant and never ending improvement. In other words, we should try to improve each aspect of our lives through the principles of kaizen. If we make small improvements in our lives, say about 1% each day, imagine the result at the end of the year? The drastic improvement of 365%!! And gradual change is not that hard, but we should monitor it. My early to rise experiment is working well. I now wake up at 7.55 am, in two days I will start waking up at 7.50. Every two days I will get up 5 minutes earlier than usual. The goal is to start coming to work by 8 am or even earlier. Most of us come to work late and think that it's virtuous to stay until 8 or 9 pm, but in reality it shows that you are unorganized and are not doing things correctly. The key point is to come to work earlier than anyone and finish work by 6 pm, so that one could have a quality time with friends or family. I noticed that most successful people get up early in the morning, it could be one of the well-hidden secrets to success.

This is very true indeed. My boss used to come to work at 7.30, grabbing a coffee on the way, also walking to work, which is a good morning excercise, and finish work at 8 pm. When he started to gain weight, he had dinner at 6 and worked until 8.30. I always admired his will power. But interesting or puty enough, never followed his steps although made numerous attemts towards this way. I think a person needs to take some time to really think things through, set a goal and a strategy/ies to acheive those goals.
To Zolboo: you go! I believe in you that you can do it! In fact, I always believe in you without doubts or concerns. So to support you I will myself start the precess of 21 days, although it already seems hard (oops, one negative - have to put my black hair ribbon on my right hand now).
Well, the first day i tried, and had to switch the ribbon couple of times. But then reading the Ferris blog, it is just too discouraging to change the ribbon each time, instead decided to do it if i do not provide a way to fix the problem.
